Streptophylla Large

This magnificent speciman is a must for any Tillandsia collector and makes a beautiful feature centrepiece.   With a large bulb base and long curly leaves, the Streptophylla can be placed beautifully in any type of planter, vase or bowl as it's base holds the plant quite high, allowing it's leaves to curl down.

It is a most resilient, hardy plant that prefers bright indirect light and misting once per week however the hotter the climate you live the more misting is required. Fresh air circulation is important to the Streptophylla and it is important to ensure that the base dries completely after watering to avoid rot. It's leaves will curl more in cooler, dry conditions and straighten in more humid wetter conditions.

The Streptophylla produces a beautiful cluster of small purple flowers from a long pink inflorescence. When the flower initially spikes it can stay in bloom for as long as one month, with the purple flowers opening over a few weeks.

The plant you will be receiving measures approx 20cm in diameter and is pre-bloom.
